When you first log into the Tele-Gence platform, you'll be directed to the Live Map view. This feature allows you to monitor your assets in real-time. Here's how to make the most of it:
Step 1: Understand the Live Map View
- Asset List: All assets are shown in a list with the last update time and location.
- Map: The map shows the asset positions, updated in real-time.
Step 2: Change View
- Use the icons at the top of the asset list to switch between grid and column views.

Step 3: Filter the Asset List
- Filter the list by asset type, cost centre, and groups if you have these set up.
Step 4: Use Quick Tool Options
- Expand the toolbar on the top right-hand corner of the map for quick tool options.
Step 5: Create a Geofence Zone
- Navigate to the area on the map where you want to create a zone.
- Select the dropdown in the top right corner and choose Geofence Zones.
- Click Create Geofence.
Step 6: Draw the Geofence Zone
- Click on the screen to create a unique shape around the area.
- Join the last point to the first point to complete the zone.
Step 7: Add Zone Details
- After completing the zone, a box will pop up for you to add details.
- Fill in the mandatory fields: Name, Type, Cost Centre, and Group.
- Choose different zone types:
- Keep in (green)
- Location (blue)
- No Go (red)
- If you don't have cost centre or groups set up, choose ‘default’.
- Optionally, add a speed limit within this zone to override the road speed limit.
- Set a proximity warning to use in conjunction with alerts.
Step 8: Search for Locations
- Use the search bar to find a location on the map by entering addresses, postcodes, or zone names.
Step 9: Change Map View
- Use the ‘Layers’ tab to change the map view. Viewing by satellite can be helpful when drawing zones as it provides photographic detail to help establish the edges of the zone.
