How to Use the Proximity Feature

The Proximity feature helps you find which of your vehicles is nearest to another vehicle, a Point of Interest (POI), or a manually entered address. This is useful for job scheduling or assisting a broken-down vehicle.

Step 1: Access Proximity

1. Log in to the Motia Telematics Portal.
2. Select the Proximity icon from the top blue navigation menu bar.

Step 2: Select Search Criteria

1. A pop-up window will open where you can select the item you wish to run your proximity search against. Choose a vehicle registration, POI, or type in an address.
2. Click 'Search' to run the Proximity query.

Step 3: View Results

1. All of your vehicles will be plotted on the map.
2. The vehicle list will display them in order from nearest to farthest based on your proximity search criteria.

Step 4: Generate Route Plan

1. Select one of the flag icons next to the vehicles on the left-hand vehicle list to generate the Google Maps Journey Route Plan between the selected vehicle and proximity marker.

Step 5: View Step-by-Step Route

1. The map plot will generate a step-by-step journey route plan from Google Maps.
