Modified on Wed, 30 Apr at 5:11 PM

The Journey Over Speed Report quickly highlights journeys with speeding events. Follow these steps to access the report:

Step 1: Select Vehicles

  1. Log in to the Motia Telematics Portal.
  2. Highlight the vehicle(s) you wish to run the report on from the left-hand vehicle list.

Step 2: Access Reports

  1. Click on the 'Reports' icon on the top navigation bar.

Step 3: Choose Journey Over Speed Report

  1. Locate 'Journey Overspeed Report' from the 'Please Select Report' drop-down menu.

Step 4: Set Date/Time Criteria

  1. Enter the Date & Time Selection criteria.

Step 5: Select Threshold Options

  1. Choose from two threshold options:
    • Road Speed Max
    • Manual Threshold

Step 6: Enter Speed Threshold

  1. If you selected Manual Threshold, enter the speed you want to search for (e.g., type 50 to show all journeys with updates over 50 mph).

Step 7: Choose Display Option

  1. Select 'Show All' journeys or just those that meet your search criteria.

Step 8: Load the Report

  1. Once loaded, your report will show all the journeys that meet the criteria along with the maximum speed recorded.

Step 9: Investigate Further

  1. To investigate a journey further, select the Earth icon on the far right-hand side of the journey to open the snail trail map plot.

Step 10: View Map Plot

  1. The map plot will load. You can scroll down the event list on the left-hand side or search by pressing CTRL+F and entering the speed value you are looking for.

Step 11: Select Speeding Event

  1. Selecting the speeding event will show the map plot location on the right-hand side.

Please Note: False positives can occur when searching by road max speed threshold, typically caused by overpass intersections or side roads running parallel with the road being driven on, where the speed limit recorded on Google is that of the other road.
