How to Set Up and Run Unauthorised Usage Reports

The Unauthorised Usage Report highlights journeys made outside of business hours, useful for identifying personal or unauthorised journeys. Follow these steps to set up and run the report:

Setting Up Authorised Usage Times

Step 1: Select Vehicle

  1. Log in to the Motia Telematics Portal.
  2. Highlight the vehicle on the left-hand vehicle list (only one vehicle can be selected to edit its properties).

Step 2: Edit Asset

  1. Click on the 'Edit Asset' icon from the top blue navigation bar.

Step 3: Set Authorised Usage Times

  1. Set the 'Authorised Usage' times. You can have different start and end times for weekdays and weekends.


Running Unauthorised Usage Report

Step 1: Select Vehicles

  1. Highlight the vehicle(s) you wish to run the report against.

Step 2: Access Reports

  1. Click on the 'Reports' icon from the top blue navigation bar.

Step 3: Choose Unauthorised Use Report

  1. Select 'Unauthorised Use' from the 'Please Select Report' drop-down menu.

Step 4: Set Date/Time Criteria

  1. Change the Date & Time Selection criteria.

Step 5: Optional Show All Button

  1. Select the 'Show All' button to either show all journeys on the report or just those that meet the unauthorised usage search criteria.

Step 6: Load the Report

  1. Click 'Load Report' to run the report.

Viewing the Report

The Unauthorised Usage report will look similar to the Journey Report. Journeys that meet the 'Unauthorised Usage' criteria will be highlighted in red.
